Stonewood Estate sits high on Moon Mountain: 187 acres of terraced vineyard, oak woodland and orchard, farmed for generations, with the Stone House, the original residence, at its center. On a clear day the silver line of San Francisco Bay shows on the horizon.
It is still a working vineyard in the Moon Mountain District, one of Sonoma’s most distinguished appellations. Walk the rows in the morning, swim in the afternoon, and open a bottle as the sun drops behind the hills.
